Visual Arts-Based Training for Supporting Cognitive Aging (Hybrid)

This study aims to understand the effects of engaging in visual arts activities on cognition and well-being in older adulthood. There is accumulating evidence that engaging in arts-related activities can promote healthy aging. To date, however, there have been limited research studies focusing on the visual arts. The study addresses the need for more studies on understanding the potential benefits of learning about or practicing visual art. Participation is at our lab for some sessions, and remote for all arts-related activities. Compensation is provided for this study.

You may be eligible if you…

    • Are 55+
    • Are able to understand and speak English
    • Do not have a psychological or neurological condition that would prevent consent
    • Have normal-to-corrected vision
    • Live in the Boston area

Auditory Training Study (Online)

As people age, hearing speech in a noisy environment can become increasingly difficult, causing frustration and impacting quality of life. You may be eligible if you…
    • Are 18-30 years old OR 60-85 years old
    • Are fluent in English or Spanish
    • Have no self-reported auditory difficulties
