Perceptual Learning: A Vision Training Study
This vision study aims to learn more about our perceptual systems and their plasticity. In this hybrid study, most sessions will be completed independently at home, with a few assessment sessions completed with us in-lab. It consist of 6-26 sessions over 5-8 weeks with compensation ranging from $95 – $395 based on number and length of sessions.
You may be eligible if you…
- Are ages 18-30 OR 60-85
- Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (glasses or contacts)
- Have no reported incidence of retinal pathology or neurological disease
Effectiveness of Cognitive Training in Older and Younger Adults
This study aims to learn more about the effectiveness of cognitive training. Participation lasts 4-8 weeks, and offers in-lab, hybrid, and remote opportunities based on eligibility and accessibility. Compensation is provided for this study.
You may be eligible if you…
- Are from ages 18-30 OR 60-85
- Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (glasses or contacts)
- Have no known neurological impairments

Adolescent Cognitive Training Study
This study aims to learn more about how cognitive training may influence attention, memory, and other aspects of cognition.
Participation lasts 4-8 weeks, and offers in-lab, hybrid, and remote opportunities based on eligibility and accessibility. Compensation is provided for this study.
Your child may be eligible if they…
- Are 12-17 years old
- Are fluent in English
- Have an adult parent or legal guardian who is able to participate in the consent process and complete questionnaires
Following the Sound of Music
Music is a common part of everyday life, and researchers are interest in learning how listening to and training with music may relate to cognitive abilities. This study aims to learn more about how music listening, training, and individual differences may influence cognition. Participation lasts 2-3 months, and is completed remotely. Compensation is provided for participation in this study.
You may be eligible if you…
- Are ages 60+
- Are fluent in English
- Have not received more than 2 years of formal musical training during your childhood OR in the past 20 years
Mediators and Moderators of Auditory Training
As people age, hearing speech in a noisy environment can become increasingly difficult, causing frustration and impacting quality of life. The Auditory Training Study aims to learn more about how we can use auditory training to help people better understand speech in noisy environments. Compensation is provided for this study.
You may be eligible if you…
- Are 18-30 years old OR 60-85 years old
- Have no self-reported auditory difficulties
- Have normal or near-normal hearing sensitivity
- Have no more than typical hearing loss for your age
- Are fluent in English or Spanish
